Landscaping Maintenance (BG142) This popular one-day seminar will help prevent the pesky duties of Landscape Maintenance from bugging you! Explore the major features of landscape maintenance, from the fundamentals of plant development to recognition of diseases and parasites. Also, shrub and flower care, shade trees, turf management and more.
Structural Painting (BG 144) A great class to learn how to do the job the right way, the first time! This new program covers the techniques of selecting and applying paints and coatings to buildings, inside and out. Learn the composition of paints and other coatings, and how to properly use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other tools of application. Also, learn to prepare new and existing surfaces for coating, and determine the easiest, most successful techniques of application.
How to Manage Maintenance (MGT 742) Don’t miss this chance to polish your existing maintenance management skills, or to prepare for the promotion you deserve. Subjects covered in this two-day course include budgeting, leadership, planning/scheduling, productivity/efficiency, inventory control and more.
Flat Roof Maintenance (BG141) Avoid trouble from above -- from your roof and your supervisors! -- with this comprehensive introduction to problematic flat roof systems. You’ll discuss insulation and waterproofing materials, roofing damage and repair, preventive maintenance and materials selection.
Plumbing Systems Maintenance (BG3113) This valuable two-day seminar will cover plumbing systems in a factory, plant or other industrial or commercial site, including an important section on storm water drainage. Learn the structure and function of all on-site plumbing systems (water supply, sanitary waste and storm water), as well as common plumbing repairs.
Heating System Basics (BG 145) Don’t get hot under the collar dealing with heating system problems at your facility. This new course covers fundamental information on all types of heating systems and will help you understand and troubleshoot your systems. The session tackles the concept of heat energy, heat transfer and temperature scales, and also discusses various factors affecting human comfort. The course also includes an introduction of all types of heating equipment and its operations, lessons on combustion and thermal efficiency, and a discussion on duct systems.
Air Handling Systems (BG 143) Newly expanded to TWO days as requested by students! This outstanding program covers airflow basics, fans, motors, ducts, insulations, terminal devises and more. Also included is an important section on current hot topics such as indoor air quality and sick building syndrome.
